Not only is King T’Challa’s home in the press this week, so is the King of Jazz- Louis Armstrong. His home in the Queens section of New York has become a museum and is open to the public. Louis Armstrong didn’t buy the house - his fourth (and final) wife, Lucille, did, in 1943. She put a down payment while he was on tour. When he returned to New York, he took a taxi out to Queens to see the home his wife had bought and thought it was too good to be true. “One look at that big fine house, and right away I said to the driver, ‘Aw man quit kidding and take me to the address that I’m looking for.’”

The Marvel film spurred conversation among architecture and cities buffs on Twitter. No fictional city has inspired quite as much real-world urbanist dialogue in recent memory since the future Los Angeles depicted in Her—which, it should be noted, was called out for its lack of residents of color. Indeed, the Afrofuturism of Wakanda is starkly different from the mostly white future society of Her.

Uber is launching a new service, Express Pool, that aims to streamline shared rides in a manner similar to a dynamic shuttle, while offering the cheapest trip in the app. (Uber)
Commuters who have grown so used to the split, lower-cost fares on UberPool may soon find an even cheaper ride in the D.C. region. Beginning Wednesday, Uber is launching a new service, Express Pool, that aims to cut out the hassle of detours and backtracking on UberPool.
According to the latest Aspiring Home Buyers Profile by the National Association of Realtors (NAR), 82% of surveyed renters desire to own a home in the future, with 80% believing homeownership is a big part of achieving their American Dream.
The profile went on to state that 50% of millennials believe that their rent will increase, with 20% believing that an increase in rent will be the catalyst that pushes them to consider buying a home vs. renewing their lease.
